Hydrologic Outlook - Wed, Apr 17, 2013 --(Issued by Northern Indiana NWS for areas that include northwest Ohio, including Fulton County.)-- an intensifying low pressure system is expected to move northeast from the southern plains today to the great lakes by thursday night. showers and thunderstorms associated with this system should gradually become more widespread from west to east across the area today through thursday night. rainfall totals over the next 48 hours are expected to range from around an inch over southeast portions of the area to near three inches northwest... with locally higher amounts possible. recent heavy rainfall has resulted in many rivers and streams near bank-full with saturated soil conditions across much of the area. thus... if the forecast heavy rainfall does occur over the next 48 hours... significant flooding of streams... creeks and low lying areas could result by thursday night... followed by possibly moderate river flooding over the weekend... continuing into early next week. people living in low lying areas or near stream and rivers should check for the latest forecasts and statements from the national weather service concerning the heightened potential for flooding. if you live in a flood prone area...begin to give consideration now for the possibility of action needed later. #weather
