Ohio River fishing - April 29, 2013 Dad and I fished Ohio River yesterday aft and eve. We caught several fish: sauger, smallmouth bass, white bass, and a channel catfish. We used plastic grubs on lead heads. River was lowish, slowish, and clearish. I could see down in the water about two feet. We caught some nice sauger in the 14 to 15 inch range. Sauger is the most beautiful eastern species freshwater fish. Pinkish-copper color, dark fin spots, dark body splotches, and the teeth. Weather was perfect. Cloudy. Little to no wind. Low clouds and low light. Temps in the 50s. I caught fish on 1/16 and 1/8 oz jigs. #fishing
