Mother's Day, May 11, 2014 DD and I left home around 9:15 to 9:30 a.m. for a drive to meet DD's parents for lunch. CP and B drove separately and joined us. Our first options for lunch were locally-owned restaurants in Fenton or Williamston, but DD called the day before, and they were booked up for Mother's Day. Not a surprise. We wound up eating lunch at Cracker Barrel near Okemos, MI, which is located a little southeast of Lansing. I have not eaten at a Cracker Barrel in a long time, but our meals were good. And this was more about a family gathering than food. I ordered the spicy grilled catfish, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, and fried okra. I would order it all again. Tasty. We all arrived at CB around 11:00 a.m. CP and B arrived first, put in their names for a table, and only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. After eating, we sat outside for probably 90 minutes on the rocking chairs, chatting. The weather was nice. Comfortable air. We left around 1:30 to 1:45 p.m. We arrived back home around 3:15 p.m. We relaxed the rest of the afternoon. I took a rare nap. #family - #event - #food
