h1. Vitamix juicing +September 2014+ Attempting to "juice" with the Vitamix, instead of the Juice Man juice extractor, so that I don't waste the pulp. more. First test today: * 250 g carrot (~ 3 carrots) * 100 g beet (~ 1/2 beet) * 300 g water * 1 whole apple Chewy. Thick. Need to scale it back. It made two tall glasses full. It's filling like this. No waste. Suggestion: * 150 g carrot * 75 g beet * 100 g apple * -150 g water- - had to use 300 g of water Adjust the water accordingly, so that it's easier to drink. Maybe instead of an apple, try some peeled cucumber, which should Vitamix to a nice mush. A lot of water content exists in a cucumber. And like the apple, the cucumber should give the drink good flavor. In the juice extractor, juicing only carrots and some beet works fine. But the ground up pulp in the Vitamix makes the drink a lot stronger tasting. I need an apple or something to "soften" the mix, so that it's drinkable. Another option is too include some apple and cucumber with the carrots and beet in the Vitamix. I don't think that celery would work well in a Vitamix. Both cucumber and celery do well in the juice extractor because these veggies contain a lot of water, and they don't produce much waste. The celery produces some. The hard veggies like carrot and beet produce a lot of pulp waste in the juice extractor. #home - #recipe - #beverage - #health - #blog_jr
