h1. Cavs vs Warriors 2015 NBA Finals Series Golden State won series 4-2. Box Scores * "Game 1":http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400796845 * "Game 2":http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400796846 * "Game 3":http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400796847 * "Game 4":http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400796848 * "Game 5":http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400796849 * "Game 6":http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=400796850 I don't understand why Cavs fans, media, and hoop "experts" think highly of Shumpert. His shoulder got hurt early in the finals series, which may have impacted his offensive shooting. He's known for playing defense. But as a starting guard in the finals series, Shumpert contributed very little on offense. In fact, his lack of scoring may have hurt the Cavs in the final three games when Cleveland needed another player to contribute points. He's not a point guard, which means he doesn't have to focus on running the offense. "Iman Shumpert":http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/6468/iman-shumpert - Guard (SG) * Game 1 : 34 min, 2-6 FG, 2-4 3P, 0-0 FT, 6 points * Game 2 : 36 min, 2-11 FG, 1-5 3P, 2-2 FT, 7 points * Game 3 : 32 min, 1-2 FG, 1-2 3P, 0-2 FT, 3 points * Game 4 : 39 min, 2-9 FG, 1-5 3P, 0-0 FT, 5 points * Game 5 : 37 min, 3-9 FG, 3-6 3P, 1-2 FT, 10 points * Game 6 : 36 min, 1-6 FG, 0-3 3P, 6-8 FT, 8 points Ave: 35.6 min per game and 6.5 points per game. Total FG shooting: 11 of 43 = 26% From 3-point range: 8 of 25 = 32% The starting SG for the Warriors was Klay Thompson. Points scored: 21, 34, 14, 9, 12, 5. In Game 6, Klay got into foul trouble, and he eventually fouled out. Over the final 3 games, GS coach Steve Kerr inserted Andre Iguodala into the starting lineup. Andre was awarded the MVP trophy for the series. Andre is listed as an SG. His scoring: 15, 7, 15, 22, 14, 25. With Andre in the starting lineup, Thompson scored fewer points. But the combined scoring by starters Andre and Klay over the final three games: 31, 26, 30. Shumpert is not in the same league as Klay and Andre. JR Smith's scoring: 9, 13, 10, 4, 14, 19. Ave = 11.5 points. Smith made some late 3-pointers in Game 6 when the Cavs were down big. It made the game close and interesting with under 30 seconds left. But Smith needed that kind of play in other games and more consistently throughout games. In Game 5, he scored all of his 14 points in the first half. He missed his last 7 shots in Game 5. For some reason, Cleveland sports media morons think that Draymond Green did not contribute much to the Warriors. Green's scoring: 12, 10, 7, 17, 16, 16. Green's rebounding: 6, 10, 7, 7, 9, 11. Green played his best ball, scoring-wise, during the final three games that were all won by GS. Steph Curry's points: 26, 19, 27, 22, 37, 25. Over the past few days, the Cleveland sports media have sounded like typical troglodytic fans. Too emotional. No rational thought. Wackadoos. But sports does not require logic. Total bench scoring per game: Cavs: 9, 21, 17, 7, 17, 24 Warriors: 34, 17, 39, 19, 17, 25 Andre Iguodala was the main bench-scorer for GS in the first three games. Andre started in the final three games. For the Cavs, JR Smith was the main bench-scorer. JR never started in the series. Total scoring points by non-starters, excluding JR Smith and Andre Iguodala: Cavs: 0, 8, 7, 3, 3, 5. Total = 28. Ave = 4.7. Warriors: 19, 10, 24, 19, 17, 25. Total = 114. Ave 19. Even with K Love and K Irving, I think that the series would have gone six or seven games. Cleveland may have won it, but it would not have been easy. #cavs
