June 16, 2015 WSPD "story":http://www.wspd.com/articles/local-news-toledo-315557/less-severe-algal-blooms-expected-13681981/ q. *Less severe algal blooms* are expected this summer in Maumee Bay and western Lake Erie. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration *[NOAA]* says a dry early spring caused less phosphorous to run off into the water, preventing massive blooms of toxic blue-green algae. q.. I generally like NOAA, regarding weather forecasting, but clearly they are dumbasses when it comes to predicting algae blooms. That June 16 WSPD story also stated: q. *Researchers* say the size and potency of algal blooms will *depend on future rainfall.* q.. Really? You need a PhD to draw that conclusion? From June 15 through July 14, I've recorded nearly 9 inches of rainfall, and since May 30, I've recorded over 12 inches of rainfall. I realize that we have experienced freakish weather and nobody predicted this much rain to fall on northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan, but it seems absurd for NOAA to make any kind of algae bloom forecast in early June. Why should we believe anything that the say now? I've concluded that nobody knows anything or everybody knows nothing. It's best to be prepared and sit back and enjoy the ride and laugh at the stooges who will guide us through this dark and stormy history. Bullwinkle attempting to pull a rabbit out of a hat contains more intelligent info than anything that the local media and the local, state, and federal governments will provide us.
