[Mr. Ujvagi] will face Glen Cook and Ernest McCarthy in the Sept. 15 primary election.

The district includes all of east Toledo and Toledo’s old south end. Councilman Mike Craig currently holds the seat, but is term-limited and cannot run again.

Mr. Ujvagi, 66, a Democrat, recently retired from the Lucas Councy Commissioner's staff.  *He served on Toledo City Council beginning in 1981,* and was council president in 1997-2002. He was elected to the state House in 2002.

Toledo's population in 1980 was 354,635.

Toledo's estimated population in 2013 was 282,313.

That's only a decline of 72K.

Hopefully, with Carty as mayor and Ujvagi on city council,  Toledo will be showered with invigorating ideas that will allow creatives to flourish.

At the very least, fix the roads and stop our underworld from blowing up.
