Bass Pro sells the "Daisy Model 1938 Red Ryder BB Gun":http://www.basspro.com/Daisy-Model-1938-Red-Ryder-BB-Gun/product/25938/ for $40. It can fire a pellet at a max velocity of   350 feet per second. It's a .177 caliber.

br. Bass Pro also sells  .177 caliber  air rifles that cost more $200 and can fire pellets at a max velocity of over 1000 feet per second. These will kill or seriously injure small animals at fairly close range. I wouldn't want to take  a pellet in the coconut from one of these rifles.
