More than half of our website traffic accesses toledoblade.com from a mobile device. Previously, The Blade had to maintain different sites to support mobile and larger screens. With the new site, if a user visits the site from a mobile device, tablet, or computer, the site responds to optimize the experience for that screen size. q.. The site still works well enough with JavaScript disabled, except for the two slide-in menus, located in the upper right and upper left corners. I access most media sites without JavaScript, since media sites are horribly bloated, and I'm mainly interested in the text. A Blade article will load completely in one or two seconds with JavaScript disabled.
