- Today's weather in Toledo was rainy for much of the morning, then partly cloudy in the afternoon, and clear and pleasant by evening. Temps started in the 40s this morning but warmed to near 60 by late afternoon.
- A White-throated Sparrow sang in the light rain this morning near the west side of our house.
- I did more development on my Grebe blogging app.
- Went to the cable office to pay off our limited cable service and to cancel it, but since the service is in DD's name, she has to call and cancel. The person had no trouble taking my payment, which was a check that contained my name and DD's name. Strange. I think that's done intentionally to make it a little harder to cancel.
- I attempted to dry some of the spent grains from our brew day at the end of March when we made our imperial stout. The spent grains were stored in the freezer. After thawing, I spread the grains onto paper towel-covered trays on the kitchen counter. I also warmed them in the oven for 20 minutes at 175 degrees, but that didn't help much. Maybe I should try using a blow dryer. They are slow to dry. I'd like to make a bread that somehow incorporates these spent grains.
- DD and I dined this evening at the Maumee Bay Brewing Company. I ordered the Betty Salad and the Oliver House Porter. DD ordered their soup of the day and an IPA beer. We shared their homemade crusty, rustic bread that contained cheese and some of their IPA beer. It was all good. While pulling into a gravel parking lot at the Oliver House, we saw a Hermit Thrush on the lot.
