"I kind of hope the snowplow trucks will have done some damage ..."

That could be tough based upon current weather conditions. At least 8 to 9 inches of snow have fallen on the Toledo area, and light snow should continue for a while longer. It was predicted to be a low-moisture, lightweight snowfall. Strong winds are creating considerable blowing and drifting snow. Air temps are only in the low teens. Outside of a snowbelt lake effect event, I think it's unusual for a significant snowfall to occur in Ohio with temps only in the teens. Usually, temps are in the 20s to low 30s.

Mid-day weather conditions at Toledo Express Airport:

Jan 2, 2014 11:52 am
Weather : Light Snow Fog/Mist and Breezy
Temperature : 13 F
Humidity : 84%
Wind Speed : NNE 23 mph - Gust 32 mph
Barometer : 30.03 in
Dewpoint: 9 F
Visibility : 1.25 statute miles
Wind Chill : -6 F

It's probably loads of fun on the roads in farm country around Toledo.

synopsis...
low pressure over the ohio valley will move east and move off the
east coast tonight. arctic high pressure will slide across the
ohio valley and lower great lakes on friday. the south flow on the
back side of the high will bring moderating temperatures this
weekend but another blast of arctic air is expected the first half
of next week.
&&

near term /until 6 pm this evening/...
the heaviest snow is sliding across the area from west to east
this afternoon. as of noon the heaviest snow has ended around the
i-75 corridor. some lake enhancement can be expected. across the
north central counties. blowing and drifting snow will be a
problem in open areas and especially across the flat terrain of
northwest ohio. hourly temperatures will be "steady" or "falling"
this afternoon. will have to follow up the winter weather
advisory when it expires with wind chill advisories for wind chills
of -10f and lower this evening/tonight.
&&

short term /6 pm this evening through 6 pm friday/...
synoptic snow should be pulling out of area by late this evening but
expect lake effect to linger across ne oh into the overnight hours
as wind flow shifts to the north. however...as dry as arctic
air mass is do not expect sustained lake effect tonight. however
in the west with clearing skies and new snow cover expect temps to
plunge to below zero...this combined with winds of 10 to 20 knots
sets up potential wind chills of 10 to 20 below zero. high
pressure builds in quickly on friday cutting off the lake effect
and tempering temps somewhat. models in good agreement with next
front to come through late saturday into sunday.
&&

long term /friday night through wednesday/...
a fairly potent closed low at 500mb will be located over western
ontario by 12z monday. the low will pull down frigid arctic air from
the canadian interior for monday with highs only expected to reach
the single digits in the west and teens in the east. monday night
lows will be below zero in most spots except near the immediate
lakeshore. a brisk east wind will make temperatures feel more like
20 to 30 below zero fahrenheit. tuesday will also be downright
frigid and lake effect snow is likely across the snowbelt.
temperatures will begin to moderate some wednesday as the surface
flow switches from the south on the back side of a high pressure
system and the departing upper low begins to fill over quebec.
wednesday night into thursday morning the temperatures could
actually climb as moderate warm air advection occurs. 850 temps
rebound from about -25c on tuesday morning to just above 0c
thursday and friday. a deep long wave trough sets up over the
midsection of the country by thursday and taps into gulf of mexico
moisture. the upper level pattern suggests friday will be wet...but
with 850 and surface temps near freezing...we could see a wintry
mix...especially in the southern counties.
&&

aviation /18z thursday through tuesday/...
light snow is falling at all 7 terminals at this hour. the snow
will become more persistent throughout the afternoon with brief
periods of moderate snowfall that will restrict visibility to a
half mile at times. it is also likely ceilings will drop to ifr in
the moderate snow. the wind will also be gusty around 25 to 30
knots...causing blowing and drifting snow. between 06 and 09z
conditions improve from west to east as the low pressure center
responsible for today/s snow moves off the atlantic coast and high
pressure builds in from the west.

outlook...ifr conditions will linger in snow showers late
thursday night...especially from cle/mfd east. non- vfr
conditions will return saturday night into sunday with snow
showers accompanying the next cold front.
&&

marine...
the wind will shift from the northeast at 20 to 30 knots as low
pressure tracks across the ohio valley this afternoon towards the
mid atlantic coast. with air temperatures over the water in the low
20s and wind greater than 15 knots...heavy freezing spray remains a
threat to mariners. waves will also meet small craft criteria
through late tonight. by friday night the wind will veer from the
south as a surface low strengthens north of lake superior. waves
will diminish to 2 feet or less in the nearshore. early sunday
morning a cold front will drop across the lake and the wind will
shift west to northwest at 10 to 20 knots.
