Ohio River fishing - December 2006

(my post at ToledoTalk.com in December 2006 before I used the Parula code base to power the TT message board.)

We [my Dad and I] caught some small saugers below the Hannibal Dam on Dec 10, 2006, mainly on 1/6 oz jig and a three-inch, white and black curly-tailed grub. A Chartruese grub also caught a couple. Slow retrieve along the bottom. Water was low and hardly moving. We fished from 4:45 to 7:00 p.m. Weather was still comfortable after dusk, with temps around 40 and winds light. Observed river levels as of 7:00 p.m. Dec 11, 2006: Pike Island 13.5, Hannibal 12.6. No change is forecast for 7:00 a.m. Dec 12. So the water levels on Dec 10 were probably about what they are on the 11th.

Pike Island below 14 and/or Hannibal below 13, 1/16 oz jig would work.
