... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday evening through
late Friday night...
The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter
Storm Watch... which is in effect from Thursday evening through
late Friday night.
Hazardous weather...
- light to moderate snow will develop Thursday night and become
heavier on Friday before ending late Friday night.
- There could be a mix of sleet and freezing rain with the snow Thursday
evening and again Friday morning with minor ice accumulations
possible.
- Storm total snow accumulations of 9 to 15 inches are possible from
Thursday night through Friday evening. The heaviest snow will be
in the higher terrain areas of the Gogebic Range... Keweenaw
peninsula and the Huron Mountains.
Impacts...
- the snow will be very wet and heavy and will be difficult to
shovel and plow.
- Roads will become snow covered and slippery with the snowfall and
the Thursday evening and Friday morning and evening commutes
could be difficult travelling.
