Quick thoughts on media, twitter, and Facebook

Had a thought: many in media dislike anonymous commenters on message boards and comment sections on news sites, causing some news orgs to use Facebook comments. Media seem to use twitter a lot and prefer twitter over Facebook for news stories cause Facebook seems to promote soft news and not the biting, so-called socially important news events.

Media criticize Facebook for not promoting ferguson stories in August 2014.

But hold on. Twitter is a mostly wide open giant message board.

If media people dislikes anonymous flamers, it's probable that most web users want to avoid conflict and heated threads with flamers so they prefer Facebook over Twitter.

Kind of like how news sites switch to Facebook comments or no comments at all.

Most users don't want to receive harsh posts from unknown anonymous users which can happen on twitter.

On Facebook, Users have more control over who can direct posts at the users. Facebook nearly allows users to eliminate accessibility by trolls. What's wrong with that?
