...Some moderate snow showers and blowing snow into the overnight hours...
Expect light to moderate snow showers to stream into areas north of M-28 mainly to the east of Munising tonight. By the time these snow showers diminish later tonight...expect as much as 3 to 5 inches of lake effect snow in an area from Melstrand to Grand Marais...Pine Stump Junction and tahquamenon falls. There will be no more than an inch of snow across areas of southwest Alger County...including Chatham...Eben Junction and Trenary.
Northwest winds gusting as high as 40 to 45 mph through this evening along the Lake Superior shore will also cause blowing snow and reduced visibility below one half mile at times under some of the heavier snow showers.
Waves whipped up by the gusty northwest winds will build as high as 10 to 15 feet this evening. These waves may cause some minor beach erosion and flooding along the Lake Superior shore east of Munising.
