CFL bulbs at home.
In the summer of 2006, I switched our two front porch lights to the curly CFLs, and I have not replaced them since, and I leave our front porch lights on all day and night. I figure that I won't remember to turn on the porch lights at night, so I leave them on.
I use two CFLs in our kitchen, and I replace one or both at least once a year.
Maybe it's an electrical issue in the kitchen, or I wonder if the lifespan of such bulbs depends upon how often they are powered on and off each day. Obviously, the kitchen lights go on and off several times a day, but the front porch lights are rarely
