Content and Distribution

A myriad of distribution methods exist to share content. It seems new options spring up every week.
I like the simplified although approach, although it's not exhaustive.
Obviously, the distribution channels chosen depends upon the type of content.
A photographer may choose Instagram or Flickr. A long-form video producer may choose YouTube or Vimeo. Short-video producers may choose Vine or Tumblr.
And most services support multiple types of content. Instagram supports 15 second videos.
If I were to choose a scheme, I would select:
- blogging on a personal domain that prohibits comments
- I would host photos and videos at Instagram, Flickr, and YouTube or my own image hosting app like Waxwing, and that content would be embedded into blog posts. Those other services would less about social networking and more about simply storing content.
- share and discuss the blog content on Twitter
- offer either a daily or weekly email newsletter.
- produce a weekly podcast
