Late January 2016 weekend fun

Fri, Jan 22, 2016

On Fri evening, Jan 22, 2016, my wife and I along with our next door neighbors K and B went out for the evening.

We ate dinner at Ya Halla's, located on Alexis in West Toledo. K and B eat their often. It was our first visit, and we will definitely go back. Good food. It's an old, renovated downtown Toledo theatre.

Then we went to Manhattan's in Uptown Toledo for drinks and their excellent fried goat cheese curds. Local farm, Turkey Foot Creek, supplies their goat cheese, which I purchase at the downtown Toledo farmers market on Saturdays.

K, B, DD, and I ate dinner at Element 112. Our reservations were for 8:00 p.m. We seated at 8:04 p.m. We left at 10:32 p.m. Great experience restaurant. It's one of our favorite places, although it's expensive, which is why our last visit occurred in December 2012. We should visit at least once a year.

Notes:

Tap water.
Red Chimay beer in Chimay glass.
Small brioche like bread roll.
Palette cleanser was a fried goat cheese thing. Not a cheese curd. It was larger than a curd. Football-shaped. Puffy. Delicious.

Four or five servers waited on us throughout the evening.

First course, crispy pork belly with orange marmalade, pickled onions. and micro greens. Amazing.

Main course rabbit ragu with potato gnocchi. Both items were stunningly good.

Dessert was chocolate fudge with micro peanut crust and ice cream.

B ordered a filet minio

Brent's file minion on potato purée.

Kim : drink mind your manners
