third saturday in feb, we birded on the onwr auto drive. we saw owls at magee marsh. we dined at blackberry corners. we watched more owls at the krauss-stagne grassland.

wed, mar 1 - pints and purls at black cloister. we sat at the bar. we chatted with a knitter who home schooled her kids. we met josh kaiser and his wife. we met chaz becker who sat at the bar and knows josh.

fri, mar 3 - at the Ice restaurant and bar, located below ground near the huntington arena. met chris, don, ange, and chris's friend at ice. we went to the arena around 8 pm for a concert. we watched a couple warm-up bands, prior to the headline band casting crowns, which is a christian rock band that plays a variety of styles, including some roots-like music. after the concert, deb and i stopped at the black cloister. we left bcbc around 2:00 a.m. we sat at the bar again and chatted with interesting people. love the fact that the bcbc has no tvs. we talked with jason who has worked at registry bistro for five years or so. we chatted with a couple who we met two days earlier at bcbc. tim ?? and ???. i forget. a group of young snoggered males, ut students, entered bcbc late, and they were funny. one fell backward on the chair at the bar. the bartender cut him off and gave him only water which confused him. he had people taste the water because he thought it was something different. one student, in the nursing program, discussed the meaning of life with jason who suggested taking a drive around the country by himself. the student who fell off the chair liked to take his shoe off, and he wanted different music played over the speaker system. he wanted bob seeger. fun evening.
