From the WTOL story :

Charmaine Bassett is the owner of Anyana Kai, a Natural Healing Center. Her website states she is a member of the Oklevueha Native American Church.

At the Lucas County Courthouse, Charmaine Bassestt was called to the stand by the judge and it wasn't but a matter of minutes before she was taken out by courtroom security.

"I stand on common law,” Charmaine Bassett said outside of the courtroom. “I stand on natural law. I stand under God's Law only. It would go against my spirit, my God-given right to life as a living woman to go into their jurisdiction. I don't belong there. It's for corporations only."

"I mean I'm federally protected. Our church is federally protected,” Bassett said. “But you know what? Because they have the guns and the dogs, all of these abusive powers, they're trying to tell me I can't practice my God-given right."

I'm a fan of Charmaine Bassett.

According to court documents, she is charged with aggravated possession of drugs, including psychedelic mushrooms, and trafficking. Both of those charges are a second-degree felony.

Her third charge is for trafficking marijuana in the vicinity of a school, a fourth-degree felony.

This month marks the 10th anniversary of Toledo's illegal refuse fee tax, which is obviously one of my favorite topics to drone on about.

Over the past 10 years, this illegal tax has robbed Toledoans of tens of millions of dollars. The theft produced nearly $9 million in 2015, and the crime was forecast to steal over $11 million in 2016.

$20 million stolen from Toledoans over the past two years to fund Toledo government's incompetence. Since April 2007, it's probably over $50 million that have been taken from us.

We could have spent some of that money, our money, at Toledo businesses. Toledo government can be bad for the local economy.

It's legal for local government to commit robbery because goobermint has the guns, dogs, and maybe a drone.

But when a citizen, a small business owner, sells shrooms and grass for health reasons, oh man, look out. The government reigns down.

I'll take more Charmaine Bassetts over the thugs on city council who support criminal activity disguised as a revenue stream to fund fictional needs.

But voters keep supporting the thugs.

What about filing a lawsuit against Toledo government? That was tried last decade. You can guess how far that progressed.
