Tt post apr 11, 2017 about the andersons retail stores

That title for that Blade story is grossly misleading. It said:

"Churchill’s hopes to fill Andersons void."

Impossible. That story lacks context.

The Andersons retail stores were too unique to be replaced or void-filled.

If Amazon.com opened a brick and mortar store that attempted to sell some products from every possible department imagined, then that might be a replacement.

That Blade story only focuses on food, which overlooks the reason why many of us found The Andersons retail stores interesting.

I didn't shop at the The Andersons only for food. So-called gourmet food was low on the list of reasons for shopping at The Andersons for me.

The Blade story would make sense if it focused only on the Sylvania Andersons grocery store, which closed first, last fall.

But at the crazy Andersons retail stores you could buy live goldfish, pet food, Carhartt clothing, organic lawn fertilizer, house paint, along with beer, wine, and household and grocery items.

West Toledo has multiple options for "gourmet items and specialty food". Some years ago, Churchill's closed on Central Ave between Douglas and Secor, and more competition exists today.
