"Just saying."

What does that mean? If you wrote something or spoke something, then what's the point of closing with, "Just saying" when it was obvious that you said something?

I thought this was a jokey thread. If it's suppose be serious, then I'll shove it into /p/

BTW, isn't it offensive to Native Americans when microcystin Lake Erie is named after Native Americans? If my ancestry dated to the Erie tribe, then I would want the lake renamed.

If I was a member of the Erie tribe, then I'd be like, hey, you capitalist pig. You hater of Mother Earth. We didn't introduce non-native species to the lake by engaging in a global economy that required large ocean-traveling freighters to enter the lake to enable the widespread shipping of goods. We didn't poison the lake by gorging ourselves obese on every disgusting food product imaginable, requiring us to farm with harsh chemicals to the edge of every waterway, practically eliminating all riparian habitat that results in contaminated runoff more easily entering our streams and rivers that flow into our lake. And no, casinos are not a good consolation prize.

Some controversy exists about the naming.

[Lake Erie] was named by the Erie people, a Native Americans people who lived along its southern shore.

It is a matter of conjecture whether the lake was named after the tribe, or if the tribe was called "Erie" because of its proximity to the lake.

No time for trivia. Can't take chances either.

Every lake, river, town, county, city, etc. that is named with a Native American reference should be renamed to ensure that it doesn't offend.

Ottawa County should be renamed to Sperm Whale-shaped County.
