"Not these new "Nazis" that would have just been The Cure fans back in my day."

I never knew about the connection between the Nazis and The Cure, which is still one of my favorite bands. One of the best concerts that I have ever seen was The Cure at Pine Knob back around 2000. If I had to pick only one album to listen to, it would be "Disintegration" by The Cure. Mmm, the name "Disintegration" does sound ominous.

I'm a Nazi for listening to The Cure, and here in my computer room, I have a portrait drawing of Stalin.

My grandma drew it. She signed and dated the drawing. Oct 43. The drawing looks similar to this photo.

We could never figure out why she had drawings of Lenin and Stalin hanging on the walls of her home. She used to live near the capitol in Washington D.C. Maybe grandma was a spy for Russia. We finally asked, and she said, "They were bad men."

I sketch birds, and grandma drew communist leaders.

What else. Oh, here's a photo of some kind of Nazi armband that I own. I think that it has something to do with athletics.

It is the armband of the Sports Badge Assocation of the SA, the Nazi "Brownshirts". It was worn by SA officials at the sport meets where SA men were tested to receive the badge. The Badge itself is shown on the armband."

We have a Nazi "flag."

My great uncle fought in WWII, including D-Day. He brought back some "souvenirs", and as family members pass away, I end up getting the trinkets.

For some reason, he brought home two, small, tin Coca-Cola signs that exist in my computer room.

  • Trink Coca-Cola Eiskalt
  • Trink Coca-Cola Schutzmarke

The alleged Nazi flag is unrecognizable because my great grandma shredded the flag into long strips, and she wove the strips into a rug that she used by her front door. Visitors unknowingly wiped their feet on a Nazi flag. The flag-rug is a bit worn, but it's solid construction. That's also beside me in my computer room.

Here's the alleged flag turned into a rug. The story behind this and everything else could be family folk lore.
