"In other news-You have 2 outstanding young candidates this year for the at large slots-Sam Melden and Nick Komives. Let's work on getting some fresh blood in there."

Unfortunately, both of those candidates sought and/or accepted the endorsement from the Lucas County Democrat Party.

That ain't fresh blood. That's contaminated blood.

They have chosen to play the same archaic political game. That's not a new, young, and fresh approach to local politics.

If elected, Meldon and Komives will be owned by special interests like most political hacks.

Why would seemingly intelligent people submit themselves or enslave themselves like that, especially at the local level?

Run as Democrats, Greens, anarchists, or whatever, but live free from party endorsements.

Neither seek nor accept party endorsements or any endorsements. That would be a new, fresh approach.

The only endorsement needed is from the voters. And if a percentage of voters only vote how some org tells them to vote, then candidates should not want their mindless, robotic support.

If elected to city clowncil at-large, will the fresh blood vote according to what they think is best for the citizens, or will they vote according to how the local democrat machine wants them to vote?

I no longer trust anybody who seeks and receives an endorsement from any political party, except for maybe the Pirate Party.
