If he is still banned from school district property, and if he gets elected to the school board, then he'll have to "attend" meetings via video/audio.

He was the sitting school district superintendent who was forced to resign due to questionable behavior. Then he got banned from school property for "disturbing, disruptive, embarrassing, and inappropriate" behavior. And this spring, he got slapped with a restraining order or at least commanded by a judge not to have contact with someone.

He must be proud of those achievements, since he's running for a school board seat.

Banned from school district property. Now that's an accomplishment, especially for the school district's superintendent. I assume that's an uncommon circumstance in the United States.

Former Superintendent Patrick Hickey should move on from the Washington Local School District and let the district move on from him.

That was the opening sentence and about all that was needed, but here's more from the editorial:

Local politics is not an appropriate forum for personal grudges.

School districts need board members who show that they respect rules and the bounds of civility, as well as fellow human beings.

Mr. Hickey is clearly not a person with the temperament for public office, and even less so this office in this community.

The best thing Mr. Hickey could do to help the district and the schoolchildren he professes to love would be to drop his bid for school board.
