In a tradition 104 years in the making, the OFFICIAL START TO SUMMERTIME IN THE USA is proclaimed in Toledo, Ohio.http://toledooldwestend.com/owe-festival/Each year, on the first Saturday in June, the ancient Visigoth Rulers of Spain, King Wamba and Queen Sancha visit Toledo's Historic Old West End Neighborhood at the King Wamba Carnival Parade. Known for over a century as “The Mardi Gras of the North”, “Wamba” showcases the cultural and ethnic diversity unique to the Old West End. Individuals representing at least six states journey to Toledo, to create a visual odyssey of art cars, floats, performance art and musical presentations.
The grand finale is the coronation ceremony, where King Wamba and Queen Sancha give their official announcement, “Let Summer Begin!”

From the website:
The Sylvania Community Arts Commission is excited to invite everyone to attend the 2nd year of the Maple and Main Art Fair. There are more than 70 artists participating this year, 11 musical acts performing, a children’s area and many food vendors will be available.
And I think it might be possible to walk around with a glass of wine or a beer at the festival.
