Hydrologic Outlook - Wed, Apr 17, 2013

(Issued by Northern Indiana NWS for areas that include northwest Ohio, including Fulton County.)

an intensifying low pressure system is expected to move northeast
from the southern plains today to the great lakes by thursday
night. showers and thunderstorms associated with this system should
gradually become more widespread from west to east across the area today
through thursday night. rainfall totals over the next 48 hours are
expected to range from around an inch over southeast portions of
the area to near three inches northwest... with locally higher
amounts possible. recent heavy rainfall has resulted in many
rivers and streams near bank-full with saturated soil conditions across
much of the area. thus... if the forecast heavy rainfall does
occur over the next 48 hours... significant flooding of streams...
creeks and low lying areas could result by thursday night...
followed by possibly moderate river flooding over the weekend...
continuing into early next week.
people living in low lying areas or near stream and rivers should
check for the latest forecasts and statements from the national
weather service concerning the heightened potential for flooding.
if you live in a flood prone area...begin to give consideration
now for the possibility of action needed later.
