Pop-culture directed by the media plus government mind control machine
Toledo Talk thread that informed me of this story.

and my comment ...
Man, I got duped by this thread's title. I thought it was going to be an interesting factoid about a children's book or game. Oh well.
At least with this thread, I can now say that I'm up-to-date with pop culture, which is obviously an area that I lack in. I guess that's what happens when I don't follow the so-called traditional media sources.
So I just checked the front page of Drudgereport.com. Clearly, it's a popular story, since that site lists at least 16 story links on the subject at the top of the site.
But I don't understand the math on this story. Murder trials occur across the U.S. every day. Why did this one get hand-selected by the government and the media to be, apparently, a top issue? Why are people so emotional about this? Why the concern?
A story posted at Drudge:

Apparently, protests occurred in multiple cities across the U.S. after the verdict. Again, these actions do not compute with me. A more valid protest would be protesting the U.S. government's abuse of power by spying on Americans.
Isn't this trial a classic example of how the media-plus-government apparatus can control the public's interests and thoughts. The media-plus-government succeeded in riling up many people. Kudos to the mind-control machine. The zombies are indeed alive and well, but they're easily manipulated.
