Bottling our Imperial Stout
JP came over to help us bottle our first batch of beer, which we brewed at JP's brew party on Sun, Mar 30, 2014.
During the teaching and bottling process that involves a lot of setup and cleaning, we sampled beers that DD and I bought the day before at The Andersons, and I made my Neapolitan-style pizza with some fresh spelt flour added to the crust.

Notes:
- bottled on Sat, May 3, 2014
- our final gravity (FG) was 1.018.
- alcohol by volume (ABV) was 8.14%
- goal ABV was 9.5%, so we had efficiency problems, probably on brew day.
- produced 51 bottles
- gave six-pack to JP who helped us bottle
- the first bottle filled and capped was placed up to be served at some special date
- we drank one bottle on Sat eve, May 10 for testing. it was low carbonated, but it tasted fine. we'll wait another week before trying another one.
- update as of May 18-on: we like this beer a lot. the carbonation is good enough. it would be nice to brew this as a one-gallon batch to see if we can reach the ABV goal. we'll definitely have to brew another five-gallon batch someday.
