Grapefruit Honey Ale - One Gallon Batch

Brooklyn Brew Shop - This was a recipe from their book titled Beer Making Book

• brewed on Sun, May 4
• bottled on Sun, May 18. produced 8 bottles.
• during bottling, we drank some of the beer, and i disliked the taste because of the grapefruit, but DD likes grapefruit, so all is well. maybe we'll try this recipe again with a different fruit, such as the Mackinaw Peach.
• according to the book, it's suppose to have a 5.5% ABV.
• we drank a bottle on Jun 4, and it tasted fine. the strong grapefruity taste must have subsided during bottling. the fruity taste exists, but it's mild, and acceptable to me. i like the wit beer better though.
• as of Jun 15, 2014, this is an enjoyable beer. crisp and refreshing. nice for summer. it's supposedly the number one seller for the Brooklyn Brew Shop, and I can understand that. I would probably enjoy it more if it was made with an orange instead of a grapefruit.
• as the beer warms in the glass, I notice the grapefruit flavor less.
