Gangs of New York - History

I have not seen the movie yet. On New Year's afternoon, I watched a show on Discovery about the real gangs of NY. Five Points, Bill the Butcher, Boss Tweed, 1863 draft riots. All depicted in the movie and part of the history of NY in the early and mid 1800's. There were some authors interviewed in the Discovery channel documentary.

I wrote down their book titles for possible future reading.
Gangs of New York
Low Life
Five Points
Banished Children of Eve

The draft riots killed ~2000 people. Soldiers from Gettysburg helped squelched the riots.
