I like single-column web page displays for content

These were screenshots captured on Fri, Feb 27, 2015, using the Chrome browser in full-screen mode on my laptop.

Junco

My stream view within my Junco-based app, used at JotHut.com when I'm not logged in.

When logged in, a small, textarea box displays at the top of the stream, so that I can add small notes or links. The delete and undelete links reside by each post.

The Junco stream will display both articles (blog posts) and notes (microblog posts) together in descending order by modified date.

I have JotHut.com configured to point to the search results for the blog_jr special hashtag that displays content with that tag in a more traditional blog format, ordered by creation date.

Within an article page created with the Junco code, I can use the "feed" command to display the results from an RSS feed in HTML. I have created several RSS pages. This one displays the Toledo Blade local news RSS feed.

Grebe

Homepage of my blog, hosted at BirdBrainsBrewing.com, using my Grebe code. I maintain three blogs that are based upon my Grebe code, and the homepages for the other two look similar to this.

Articles are displayed on the homepage. Notes are displayed separately within the site in a stream format.

If I was logged in, the delete link would appear by each article post. The home page article stream and the notes stream are displayed in descending order by created date.

Clicking on a tag will display search results in the following manner. Doing a search on a string will work the same way. This is also how the notes stream is displayed within my Grebe code. If I was logged in, then the delete link would appear to each note.

Scaup

Kinglet

Private, opt-in, web-based messaging app that is part email, messaging, and message board.

Parula

Current version of the ToledoTalk.com message board home page. This view has existed since early 2013, I think. Threads are displayed by updated date, which includes newly-created threads and recently-commented threads. So old threads can be bounced back to the top with either a new comment, or the original post that started the thread gets updated by the author.

At the bottom of the Toledo Talk homepage is a link called "blog" which displays content by created date, along with a snippet of the post that started the thread.

This has been one of my long-time, favorite views. It doesn't matter if posts are displayed by created or updated date.

The first version of Toledo Talk looked similar to this view. I created it in late 2002, and I patterned it after MetaFilter.com. On the homepage, show the first paragraph or the first X-number of chars/words of the post.

My Junco, Grebe, and Scaup apps use versions of this view. It doesn't matter to me if it's called a stream, river, list, or single-column. I simply like it.

ToledoWX

Toledo-focused web-based weather app. Scripts execute at regular intervals in cron to create the content. jQuery mobile displays the info.
