Update about planned police security for April 2015 NSM rally in downtown Toledo

Mar 26, 2015 - Toledo Blade - Toledo police plan layout for National Socialist Movement's rally

I'm guessing that the police plan will be borrow some things from the plan that they used in December 2005.

From the March 26, 2015 Blade story:

Toledo Police have devised a tentative setup for the planned National Socialist Movement rally in downtown Toledo next month. Toledo police said plans for the rally are tentative and could change as the event nears.
  • The NSM rally is scheduled to begin at 3:30 p.m., Sat, Apr 18, 2015 in front of One Government Center.
  • The NSM has a two-hour permit.
  • Attending law enforcement will include Toledo Police, Lucas County Sheriff, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and officers from Ottawa and Wood counties.
  • A police line and a boulevard will separate the public from the NSM.
  • A significant portion of downtown will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Parts of Adams, Superior, North Michigan, North Erie, and Beech, will begin to close to vehicles and pedestrians at 11:00 a.m., Apr 18.
  • Street parking will shut down the night before.
  • At 2:30 p.m., gawkers and trouble-makers will be corralled into a designated area.
  • The gawker bullpen will be located south of Jackson Boulevard between North Erie and North Huron.
  • People with vapid lives will be prohibited from carrying backpacks, purses, or signs on posts into the bullpen.

Capt. Tom Wiegand, in charge of Toledo police operations for the event, said they are modeling rally plans after the way they handled response to the December, 2005 neo-Nazi rally downtown, which had a heavy police presence.
