Elegantly designed and functional items

My Birks that I bought on Jul 7, 2007 at a Birkenstock store in Royal Oak, Michigan. I'm wearing these shows at this moment on Jul 21, 2015. I've had them resoled at least twice at nearby Macino's shoe repair store, located in West Toledo at Sylvania Ave near Secor Rd.

A toilet paper holder in our upstairs bathroom. When we had the bathroom remodeled in 2005 or 2006, the workers added this nifty paper holder. Since the arm swings out, the size of the roll does not matter. The upward-facing end of the bar keeps the roll from coming off. It simply works well. I don't need to disassemble the apparatus to install a new roll of toilet paper like with the traditional bonehead design that uses the spring-loaded, collapsible bar that could shoot off into who-knows-where. The extra fat paper rolls get stuck and don't move with the traditional spring-bar holder.
