"Or we can just convince Bell to do the second term ..."
Aug 4, 2015 - Toledo Blade story
The filing deadline to run in the Nov. 3 mayoral election is Sept. 4.
Aug 4, 2015 - Tom Troy blog post
One of the last major undecided endorsers in the race for mayor of Toledo - the Toledo Regional Chamber of Commerce - held a clambake last week and the only candidate or potential candidate on hand was Mike Bell.Bell is not campaigning and has done nothing to indicate he would run except to say that he is keeping an open mind about entering the campaign.
The annual clambake is one of three major annual fundraisers the Chamber puts on. It’s not a political event, but the chamber’s endorsement will carry a certain amount of weight and money when it is made.
Chamber spokesman Stacey Mallett told me the endorsement will be made after the Sept. 15 city council primary elections.
Potential mayoral candidates have four weeks to announce officially their intentions.
Thus far, the only announced candidates are Sandy Drabik Collins, Opal Covey, and Paula Hicks-Hudson.
It's a donnybrook. Hopefully, Troy's friends can keep him calm.
