Oct 2015 - tablet vs phone for media

Maybe this is not a truly indicative story about consumer's preference for using a phone over a tablet for reading media content, but it's possible that the inference could be made.

Is Flipboard primarily used on tablet or phone? If the latter, then this is irrelevant.

And this could all be related to consumers' growing interest in using Twitter and Facebook for nearly all of their so-called news.

I don't use a tablet. Two devices: phone and laptop/desktop. I could understand a book hound using a Kindle reader, since the device displays text in all light conditions better, and the Kindle's battery life is longer.

Over the past couple years, it seems that consumers have cooled on tablets because the phones have grown in size.

Why would a user own an iPhone 6-plus and an iPad Mini?

I could see owning a larger tablet if it replaces the laptop. Two devices: phone and large tablet with Bluetooth keyboard.
