the severe weather threat for severe thunderstorm watch 381
continues.

summary...a wind damage threat will continue into the overnight
period across ne ind...nw oh and se lower mi. ww issuance will be
needed shortly to the east of ww 381.

discussion...a well-developed bowing line segment moving quickly to
the east at 40 to 45 kt will continue to affect areas ewd along a
gradient of moderate instability across nw oh and se lower mi. sfc
dewpoints ahead of the line are in the lower 70s f along and
southeast of an outflow boundary located across wrn lower mi that is
enhancing lift. in addition to the moist boundary layer...the
detroit wsr-88d vwp shows a unidirectional wind profile with 0-6 km
shear near 50 kt. this should be supportive a wind damage threat as
the line moves to the east of ww 381. for this reason...a new ww
will be needed shortly ahead of the bowing line segment.

The weather radar alarm sounded around 1:45 a.m.

The first line of storms fizzled in northern IN and western MI late Monday night, but the second line that was located in northern IL late Monday night appeared like it was going to hold up, so it was no surprise that the weather radio alarm sounded.

The forward motion of these storms is 55 to 60 mph. The drag produced by these storms is enough to cause damage.

Source...trained weather spotters reported widespread 70 mph winds in western Paulding County Ohio.

As of 2:28 a.m., all counties from south central MI to west central OH are at least partially warned.

• Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... eastern Defiance County in Northwest Ohio... Fulton County in Northwest Ohio... Henry County in Northwest Ohio... northeastern Paulding County in west central Ohio... eastern Williams County in Northwest Ohio...

• until 315 am EDT

• at 235 am EDT...severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Montpelier to Defiance to 6 miles northwest of Continental...and moving east at 45 mph.

Hazard...70 mph wind gusts.

Source...trained weather spotters.

Impact...expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to Mobile homes...roofs and outbuildings.

• Severe thunderstorms will be near... Archbold around 250 am EDT. Napoleon and Holgate around 255 am EDT. Wauseon around 300 am EDT. Liberty Center and Deshler around 305 am EDT. Delta and McClure around 310 am EDT. Swanton around 315 am EDT.

Other locations in the warning include Standley...Jewell... Independence...zone...Elmira...Burlington...Ridgeville Corners... Pleasant Bend...Okolona and New Bavaria.

This includes Interstate 80 90 in Ohio between mile markers 13 and 48.

• at 250 am EDT...National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a line of thunderstorms...producing severe winds in excess of 50 knots from 20 nm west of Detroit to 32 nm southwest of Maumee Bay...moving east at 35 knots.

• Other locations in the warning include but are not limited to Put-In-Bay and Kelleys Island
