Feb 20, 2015 Weather Notes
February 2015 is turning out to be a record-breaker for Toledo, weather-wise.
This morning, Fri, Feb 20, 2015, Toledo Express Airport recorded an amazing low temp of -19 at 7:40 a.m.
The -19 temp crushed the record for Feb 20, which was -5, set in 1978.
The -19 temp is now the new Toledo record for the coldest temp for the entire month of February. The previous February record low temp was -16, set on Feb 11, 1985.
And the -19 temp was only one-degree shy of Toledo's all-time coldest temp. TOL recorded -20 on Jan 21, 1984.
This morning, I saw the TOL temp at -17.
It was a bit "warmer" in the city. 7:23 a.m. temps:
Currently, this month is the sixth snowiest February for Toledo, since record-keeping began. Toledo Express Airport is the official recording spot.
Over the final week of February, we may receive a few more inches of snowfall. Two more inches will make this month the third snowiest February while three inches will put this month at the top of the list.
From another Feb 20, 2015 Toledo Blade weather-related story
The NWS predicts a couple inches of snowfall for this weekend, and we may receive a little more on Tuesday. Temps will remain well-below normal.
For the final week of February, our normal high temp ranges from 38 to 40 degrees and our normal low temp ranges from 22 to 24 degrees.

This data is a bit more enthusiastic about snowfall totals.
Last month, our total snowfall at TOL was 12.2 inches. Average is 11.6 inches.
Through Jan 31, 2015, total snowfall recorded at TOL since July 1 was 15.0 inches. Average total snowfall through Jan 31 was 21.1 inches.
I only measured 9 to 10 inches of snowfall in West Toledo for January.
It's hard to remember that this past December was snowless. TOL recorded no measurable snowfall for December 2014. That was the third time in Toledo's recorded history that December was snowless.
We received more snow last November than in December.
In West Toledo, the Feb 1st snowstorm dumped more snow in one day than what we received over the previous two months combined.
