Jan 31 2015 weather

Info as of Saturday morning, Jan 31 ...

A Winter Storm Watch remains in effect from late tonight through Monday morning.

The Northern Indiana NWS upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning for northern IN and northwest OH, including neighboring counties Fulton and Henry.

Regardless of the low pressure's final track, it does appear that we'll receive at least 6 inches of snow with a likelihood of more.

On Sunday, snow is forecast to begin around 3:00 a.m. The heaviest snow is forecast to fall between Noon and 9:00 p.m. It will be windy, especially on Sunday night, so blowing and drifting snow are likely.

  • The Det/Pon NWS predicts 10 inches for Monroe and Lenawee counties.
  • The Cle NWS predicts 8 to 10 inches for Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa counties.
  • The N. IN. NWS predicts 6 to 8 inches for Monroe County, 8 to 10 inches for Fulton, Lucas, Wood, and Ottawa counties, and 10 to 12 inches for Henry and Hancock counties.

The Cle and N. IN. offices show Lucas County on the border for snowfall ranging between 6 and 10 inches.

It "seems" that Toledo proper might receive 7 to 8 inches of snow. It still appears that the heaviest snowfall will occur a little south of Toledo, but not by much. It's possible that Toledo Express Airport could record a couple more inches of snow than North Toledo.

Toledo Forecast:

Tonight: Snow likely, mainly after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 21. Southwest wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday: Snow. High near 23. Northeast wind 8 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Sunday Night: Snow. Low around 8. Wind chill values as low as -8. Blustery, with a northeast wind 20 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Monday: A chance of snow showers before 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 13. North wind 9 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
