...lakeshore flood warning now in effect until 4 pm edt this
afternoon...

  • lake shore flooding...prolonged northeast to east winds of 35 to
    40 mph will cause water levels to remain elevated on the western
    basin of lake erie through mid to late afternoon before
    beginning to drop. in addition...waves of 6 to 12 feet can be
    expected.
  • timing...water levels are forecast to continue rising through
    the morning and into early afternoon before starting to decrease
    saturday afternoon and evening. the water level at toledo is
    forecast to remain above 6 feet above low water datum until mid
    afternoon.
  • impacts...beach erosion and coastal flooding is likely.

precautionary/preparedness actions...

a lakeshore flood warning means lakeshore flooding is occurring...
