Downtown toledo dining thoughts
It seems like downtown Royal Oak, Michigan is 90 percent restaurants, and the entire Detroit area goes there to eat. It's very busy, at least on a Saturday evening at the end of January.
It's possible that as long as the eateries are high quality, then they'll attract patrons from further away. Royal Oak appears to be a destination eating spot, unless that town contains more people than I realize.
Maybe the downtown Toledo eateries will peel off business from other parts of the city and the suburbs.
But I don't think that a business will succeed simply because it's located downtown. Location won't save it if it's offering a mediocre product.
Over the past year or so, our own going-out habits have changed to focus more on downtown places because we like them better.
