Toledo Beer Week will have more than 25 craft beer-related events throughout its run. From beer-themed sandwiches and doughnuts to tap takeovers at area bars and restaurants, organizers of the event left no keg untapped. There will be regional and national favorites, Ohio and Michigan beer nights, beer and food pairings, homebrewing demonstrations, and a beer festival and bar crawl on the same day.

Basically, if it has to do with craft beer, Toledo Beer Week’s got it covered. And 100 percent of the money raised goes to charity.

Members of the organizing committee — Amelia Jarrett, Shannon Mohr, Bobby DeSeyn, and Evan Bates — have chosen the Collingwood Arts Center to be the beneficiary of the city’s first beer week.

“The arts and craft beer go well together, as well as the arts and Toledo,” said DeSeyn, district sales manager at Cavalier Distributing.

And crafts or making things go well with craft beer. The mindset.

The Birmingham Craft Beer Fest, which will feature American and European beers, will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Hungarian Club, 224 Pain Ave., East Toledo. Tickets are $25 for 10 samples and include a pretzel necklace.

The Downtown Pub Club Cheers to Ohio Bar Crawl will have nine participating bars focusing on different Ohio beers. The pub crawl starts at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Participants and featured brewers are Pizza Papalis, 519 Monroe St., Jackie O's (Athens); Ye Olde Cock ‘n Bull, 9 N. Huron St., Fat Head's (North Olmstead); Packo's at the Park, 7 S. Superior St., Thirsty Dog (Akron); Blarney Irish Pub, 601 Monroe St., Great Lakes (Cleveland); Ye Olde Durty Bird, 2 S. St. Clair St., Elevator (Columbus); Bronze Boar, 20 S. Huron St., Catawba Island (Port Clinton); Home Slice Pizza, 28 S. St. Clair St., Maumee Bay; Mutz, 27 S. Broadway, Maumee Bay; Table Forty 4, 610, Monroe St., Rivertown (Cincinnati).

The Capstone event is split into two cask ale sampling sessions Sunday at Maumee Bay's Warehouse, 201 Morris St., near the Oliver House. Each session will be capped at 200 people. Tickets are $25, and includes 12 sample and food.

More than 20 cask ales will be available to sample. The first session is from 1 to 3 p.m. and the second is from 4 to 6. Entertainment also will be provided.

Rocky's, 4020 Secor Rd., is having a week-long party with various Maumee bay beers on tap, special food deals, and a lot of live music.

The Glass City Mashers homebrewing club will put on a free demonstration on how beer is made at 4 p.m. Monday at the Attic on Adams, 1701 Adams St.

Paula Brown Shop, 912 Monroe St., is hosting five events, including a “Funk ‘n Funk Night” at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The shop will feature ales from Jolly Pumpkin Brewing Co. of Dexter, Mich., and pair them with cheeses from Zingerman's of Ann Arbor. JB's Sarnie Shop of Perrysburg also will serve food in the shop’s new beer garden.

Barr’s Public House, 3355 Briarfield Blvd., Maumee, will have Ohio and Michigan beer and cheese pairings all week.

Local brewery Sugar Ridge will take over the taps at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Two Foxes Gastropub, 121 S. Main St., Bowling Green.

Mancy's Italian, 5453 Monroe St., will host a tap takeover from Jackie O's Pub & Brewery of Athens, Ohio, at 5 p.m. Thursday.

Swig, 219 Louisiana Ave., Perrysburg, also is host of several events, including "Friday Night Sour Focus" starting at 3 p.m. Sour beer is riding a wave of popularity and Swig will have some on hand to try out.

Caper's Restaurant & Bar, 2038 S. Byrne Rd., will have a West Coast tap takeover at 5 p.m. Friday.

Earth to Oven Bakery, 5758, N. Main St., Sylvania, will serve craft beer-inspired baked good and sandwiches during beer week.

Black Cloister Brewing Co., 619 Monroe St., will serve Rachel's Handmade Ice Cream made with its beer from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday.

The Andersons, 530 Illinois Ave., Maumee, will have a “very special” beer tasting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The store said the secret beers will be revealed Thursday.

Good grief. toledobeerweek.org requires a super computer to view the frigging bloated website. Why not keep the damn thing simple so that it loads fast? I gave up on viewing it. Of course, it requires JavaScript in order to function. Absurd. It's beer not a video game.
