It's sometimes called the Erie Street Sinkhole because for many years now, it has been a financial drain on taxpayers.

Mar 31, 2014 - Toledo Blade - City says 7 entities show interest in developing Erie Street Market - "Comprehensive plan sought for nearly vacant downtown site"

The city-owned Erie Street Market continues to be a money drain for Toledo taxpayers, but the Collins administration said at least seven entities are interested in the building.

That alleged interest sounds like the same noise emitted from the third installment of the Carty Finkbeiner administration (2006 - 2010).

But let's remain positive.

Another example of human stupidity. Anti-nature, anti-environment.

The Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota plans to release 60,000 balloons. The group claims that the balloon release is eco-friendly. Imbeciles. They are regurgitating propaganda from the balloon industry. Yeah, Big Balloon.

Law enforcement should issue 60,000 fines to the foundation for littering. It would be a good way for local government to make money. Local governments are always looking for a convenient money grab. Ah, the police will probably be busy with an unconstitutional motorist checkpoint.

Trying to think about this after listening to a segment on public radio this afternoon. Obviously, it's tough to limit the list only to three. I guess that I base this upon the books that I have re-read most often.

The next time someone starts clamoring about how we need to do this and that to stop global warming, ask the person if he or she is a vegetarian. If the person isn't a vegetarian, then the person is a hypocrite in addition to being ignorant of the information espoused by environmentalists.

I attended a Registry Bistro wine dinner in February of 2013, and it was fantastic, so I'm looking forward to this one. Another great lineup of dishes is planned.

Update: No surprise that this was another fantastic experience. Great food, wine, and conversations with people who I knew and did not know.

PHP may be the favorite language to hate, yet it continues to be one of the most used web programming languages. And PHP continues to power some of the most heavily-trafficked sites. Plenty of job openings exist for PHP programmers.
